How to get a Free Hotspot using your Android Phone

I was talking with my parents last week and they told me they were paying $20 a month per phone ($40 for both of their phones) for Hotspot access on their Android phones though Verizon.

I couldn’t believe they were paying $40 every month for something that is FREE!

It is really simple to make your Android phone a hotspot for free, follow a couple of simple instructions and you will never need to pay for it again.

1. Download and install Quicksettings from Google Play (formerly known as the Android Marketplace.

2. Open the App once installed, Click the menu button and go to customize.

3. Find “Wi-Fi hotspot” in the “hidden settings” section and more it to the “shown settings” section, and click back to get to the main screen

4. Now it is set to shown when you open the app, just click on the “wi-fi hotspot” and click the on/off button, you can set a password if you want.

5. As added note, when you turn the hotspot on it turns off your search for wi-fi signal, so when you turn off your hotspot make sure to turn the “wi-fi” back on.
