Xbox One & Uised Games Adressed by Major Nelson

Over the past few days, we have been reading comments and message boards following the Xbox One announcement. There are a few questions regarding used games. I wanted to clarify and provide this official statement:
The ability to trade in and resell games is important to gamers and to Xbox. Xbox One is designed to support the trade in and resale of games. Reports about our policies for trade in and resale are inaccurate and incomplete. We will disclose more information in the near future.

The ESPN app also showed off some Snap stuff, letting Xbox One users watch live sports on ESPN, then using Snap to research stats on key players by speaking to Kinect. Xbox One will even let fantasy sports fans update their teams and interact with their leagues through Snap mode.

MS planning Xbox dashboard update in preparation for next-gen console

Microsoft is preparing to update its Xbox 360 with another dashboard update. Sources familiar with Microsoft's Xbox plans have revealed to The Verge that the dashboard update will enter into a public beta in late June or early July, with changes and updates in preparation for the next-generation Xbox. We're told that the user interface will be refreshed alongside smaller Live Tiles, similar to what Microsoft is preparing for Windows 8.1. Microsoft is also said to be tweaking the look of the Xbox dashboard, with the possibility of darker or lighter themes.

We understand Microsoft is aiming to ensure Xbox 360 users can transition over to the next-generation console and interact with existing Xbox 360 users using messaging, beacons, and achievements. Microsoft will also phase out the use of its Points system with this dashboard update, replacing it with currency and gift card options. We're told that the final update will be made available, providing the public beta testing goes to plan, in August.

Microsoft is holding a special event at its campus in Redmond on May 21st to unveil the next-generation Xbox. Sources have revealed to us that the event will include details of the new interactive TV features that the company is building into its next console. Microsoft is also expected to show off a smaller and denser Xbox console with newly designed controllers that are said to be "flattened" in appearance.

Microsoft isn't commenting about any planned dashboard changes. "We don’t have anything new to announce at this time," says a spokesperson.

EA Discontinues Online Passes

ea_logo_black_news_header_723x250
An important development in the business of used games happened yesterday: publisher EA has decided to sever its online pass program. If you haven’t been playing console games in the last two years, the online pass system effectively locks content behind a $10 paywall that ensured that even though publishers and developers wouldn’t receive money from the sales of used games, the opportunity to get a little money anyways. In an e-mail to the site Venture Beat, senior corporate communications director John Reseburg said that “None of our new EA titles will include the feature” and that the reason for discontinuing the program was due to fact that “many players didn’t respond to the format.”
While the $10 program was mostly used for multiplayer content by Sony, Ubisoft and THQ, some publishers attempted to gate single player games, like in the case of Batman: Arkham City and the Catwoman section of the game. Whether this spells the end for the now common paywall is yet to be seen.
Something else to keep in mind are EA’s CFO fairly recent comments on how many of their games will have microtransactions. Though he did step back from what he said and clarified that while most all mobile games will have microtransactions and bigger titles will have Battlefield 3 style season passes, Mass Effect 3, Dead Space 3, and SimCity all include micropayment options.

For those who are not good at no scoping and need something to help level the playing feild I came accross this product that just might help. First tell no one you have this little gimmick unless you love disgrace and ridicule. Just stick this little target on your TV and now you know exactly where your scope will shoot with out having to zoom in on the sights.

New Beginnings with Gamertag and Xboxes

After some trading in our local classifieds I got my 2 banned Xboxes relaced with non-banned consoles. So that is up and running again.

With the help of Batmanno I found my next gamertag. B4D W01F which is reference to my favorite TV show Doctor Who :)

Starting fresh again, still have some hurt feelings towards Microsoft but I am moving on.

I will resume posting more often so keep checking back and thank you for sticking around J

1 Step Closer

Did you know you cant win a battle when the other party wont even give you a chance to fight? lol
I had to move on, Microsoft has no inention of reversing my ban. So I traded 1 of my banned consoles for a PS3 Slim last night in hopes of then trading the PS3 for a diffrent Xbox 360.
So I am 1 step closer to acheiveing my goal... :)

I am so perplexed on choosing my next Gamertag, I have used Airik1 as my Tag since my days in High School (now my daughter is almost in high school ouch!).

I am hoping to be back over the weekend... TTYL

Striking Blow!!!

Just an FYI, I wont be posting over the next couple of days. As of yesterday my favortie past time changed for ever!

Yesterday morning my Xbox account was banned along with my sons account. As if that wasnt bad enough, 2 of my 4 consoles were banned as well. Find it odd that my 2 consoles that were banned where slims as were my remaining 2 consoles where the fat model.

So far I have been getting the run arround from Microsoft and the ban process and communication there after is a big joke.

First I cant message them from my original account because it no longer has access to online features. So you have to use a seperate account to contact them. The only contact they allow is by posting in the xbox forums. It took 3 hours yesterday just for my post to be approved asking why I was banned. 2 hours after that I get a response with a generic response referring me to the terms of service and code of conduct. After replying with 2 messages trying to get more information they respond the next day (12 hours later) saying I need to post a new thread in the forum to get my question address.

From what I have researched (which is what I have been doing instead of posting on my blogs) that there is 0% chance of me getting out of a 9999 ban.

My account also had 17,500 Microsoft Points ($220) and a Family Gold membership ($120) along with pre-purcahsed season passes for Halo 4, Black Ops 2, Borderlands 2 & Injustice. This is not including the thousands of downloads already purchased on my account and the loss of 2 xboxes!

I hope Microsoft will fix this ban but so far they dont seem to not only work with me but anyone at all.

Call of Duty: Ghosts Camo ‘Unlocked’ Through Latest Black Ops 2 Update

According to GameStop, the Call of Duty: Ghosts weapon camo featured in Black Ops 2 is a bonus incentive for pre-ordering the game, along with a two-sided poster.

It appears that the latest multiplatform patch for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 did more than introduce a new game mode or fix some bugs.

As explained by YouTuber MrJamesGeary, his partner TheJaRniBoi was able to “unlock” the camo by exploring the game files found in the latest patch. According to his findings, it looks as though coding was put in place to eventually introduce the weapon camoflauge pattern based on the yet unannounced Call of Duty: Ghosts.

Presumably, this camo would become available through Black Ops 2′s recently introduced micro-transaction sometime after the next Call of Duty is officially announced.
